STIHL MSA 220 C-BQ is the most powerful STIHL cordless chainsaw to date.
Offering up to 20% higher cutting performance than the MSA 200, this saw uses the brand new AP 300 S to provide the highest cutting performance of a cordless saw and allows the machine to be used for professional work alongside other professional cordless tools in the STIHL Pro cordless range. Perfect for landscapers, councils, farmers, forestry workers, loggers and private users - this cordless chainsaw is an ideal choice for wood care, small-sized timber felling, limbing, clearing young trees, timber construction, firewood sawing and use alongside a chipper.
The MSA 220 has fantastic performance when used in conjunction with the AP 300 S. With a chain speed of 24 m/s, the EC Motor allows for fast acceleration of the saw so chain speed can be quickly picked up when needed. This machine can be used in the rain so it is ideal for the British climate throughout the year. Tensioning the chain is easy and can be done without the need for a tool.

Great tool. Well made, well balanced. Very useful and much more pleasant to use than a chugging petrol unit.

So easy and no noise. It’s also lighter than a powered saw. Instead of a chainsaw running whilst setting up the next cut the cordless just stops. With a 300 battery I can get an hours work easily.
A very good value for money saw with good power, light and easy to use.
Awesome chainsaw. If you’re coming from a Stihl MS170 or 180 petrol, you won’t be disappointed. Fast chainspeed, instant braking, negligible kickback. Quiet, so no real need for ear defenders, which means you can work along the boundary of your property and still be aware of approaching traffic. No fumes só you can use it undercover or inside a woodshed for instance. Battery life is quoted at 48 mins, which doesn’t sound a lot, but if you’re cutting logs, that’s a lot of wood, because that’s pure cutting time. A petrol chainsaw will be running on the floor while you’re moving logs into place. And it’s ready to use instantly, which means there’s no messing around with fuel and fuel oil. If you’re working away from home you can just chuck it in the car without the smell and fumes inside the car. If you’ve already got AP200 batteries, you can use them too. They don’t have as much grunt, but they’re ok for smaller stuff while your AP300S is charging. The AP300S is a more torquey battery and if you’ve already got a charger for an AP200, it will charge in that too.
All in all a fantastic product.
