Compared to traditional 2 stroke and even battery hedge trimmers, using this is a breeze. The extra weight of an integrated battery is transferred to the hip (if using ap holster) or the back if using the AR range of batteries (which only uses about 1 bar on a 3000 battery in a full days work).
There aren't any obnoxious fumes to breathe in, the machine is extremely light and manouverable, especially when taking the tip protector and leg protector off, which makes the machine ideal for using all day long with minimal fatigue. It's so light you can use it one handed if you need to, or hold it outward using both hands.
The only niggle I can think of is snagging the wire when cutting shrubs up close, but this can be reduced by routing the wire up through the harness. Blades are cheap at around £60 for a replacement set and there's a handy easy access port to add additional Stihl multilub to add more grease to the gearing. The handle is adjust around to 0, 90 and 180 degrees adding more flexibility and fatigue reduction under operation. You will still need to use ear defenders as the machine is quite loud despite being electric.
Have a lot of high hedges need trimming twice a year. One year from know I’m quids in. Only ever used wired h-trimmers this is in a far superior league and readily to hand at any given time. Battery is definitely the way forward. Very happy with my purchase.
