The universal all-rounder in every season - even in winter

A powerful mowing machine for the rough tasks, which is made possible by its manoeuvrability on field edges or slopes and precise mowing capabilities - and thereby guarantees ecological garden care, as it does not damage the microorganisms living in the area. The ergonomic, vibration-damped, adjustable handlebar as well as the ability to switch the wheel drive on or off guarantees the comfortable and particularly safe guiding of the powerful device. The mowing drive for the cutter bar can also be switched on and off separately for your safety at work.

With the right accessories, you can quickly equip the unit for every application: whether for mowing or snow clearing (snow blade art no. 113267). The solo by AL-KO 5001 R II is your robust and efficient partner for the care and management of all nature gardens and meadows as well as for winter use. Suitable for areas up to 2,500 m², the BM 5001 R II is a compact and agile alternative to a lawn tractor.

With its powerful 2.4kW petrol engine and a mower bar with a remarkable 102cm cutting width, this scythe mower provides you with superior performance. You can mow areas up to 2500 m² efficiently, quickly, effortlessly and thoroughly - in an ecological way when compared to a mower with rotating blades. Despite the large cutting width of the mower, the width between each tyre edge is only 55 cm and the low wheel-to-bar distance of only 45 cm enables unimaginably easy manoeuvrability.

The strong 190 cc Briggs & Stratton engine ensures fast and even work. It powers the drive to the blade which can be switched on and off (with the cutter bar mounted) as well as the wheel drive which has a forward and reverses gear, which can also be switched on and off as required. The mower shows its strengths in rough terrain where the forward and reverse gears can be used to safely navigate through challenging conditions. In conjunction with the height-adjustable, vibration-damped handlebar for the perfect, fatigue-free device guidance and the 13-inch, air-filled wide tyres with an agricultural profile, optimal handling on any terrain and slopes up to about 20 ° is achievable - and all in comfort.

Highly flexible - two devices in one: The basic device can be quickly and easily converted to the right job with suitable components. In winter, the 5001 R II mower is converted to a practical snow plough in an instant. Simply swap the cutter bar with the snow plough (art. No. 113267). When using on slopes, also attach the optionally available snow chains (item no. 112883) - and you're ready to go!

On the one hand, the powerful workhorse for the rough can cope with any scrub and terrain and on the other, its special design elements that ensure a very clean, residue-free mowing: The movable grass deflector and the short distance between wheel and cutter bar ensure perfect grass depositing without grass residue laying on the device cover or blades which minimises interruptions and cleaning effort.Note: The details of mowing areas may vary depending on the nature of the crop being harvested (grass height, density, the degree of humidity, etc.).Features:

  • Universal, powerful scythe mower for natural gardens up to 2500 m²
  • For mowing meadows, natural gardens and thick wild herbs
  • Use in any terrain thanks to wide tyres and wheel drive
  • Good manoeuvrability thanks to short wheelbase, forward and reverse gears
  • Large working width, cutter bar with 102 cm ESM blade, optional: snow blade

Brilliant bit of kit, which I'd had one years ago.

Wasn't assembled so had to try that myself. The model has been updated but not the instructions and pictures which wasn't exactly helpful. Ended up taking it to a service centre. It is easy to start and operate although there is quite a bit of vibration in the handles; 1 hour's use is quite enough at a time. The reverse is useful although you can manoeuvre the machine by pulling it. I could do with a bigger hand to grip the cutter and drive handles but I do manage. I am nearly 70, female and only 5'1'' so if I can use it, I'm sure most people could. It does a brilliant job of cutting long grass and can cope with nettles, thistles and small clumps of reeds. I am very impressed.
