View full detailsI was looking for a good quality replacement strimmer head for my Kawasaki KH48. The original strimmer head supplied was rubbish and I replaced it pretty much straight away with an a large unbranded head that was really good, took 12 meters of 3.3mm line and lasted about 10 years before the end plate had worn though. The Husqvarna T55X head was the only strimmer head I could find now that looked to be good enough for my use. It doesn't take quite as much line, about 10 meters but it is really good quality and better still, all the individual parts are available as replacements. The T55X is easier to wind and load than my last one as the design is different and the central spring assembly is retained in the centre (on my old one the spring always fell out into the grass). My old one also had eyelets that required threading, the T55X has slots and is a whole lot easier.
I must say that the T55X WILL NOT fit straight on to my KH48 as the thread on the KH48 is 10mm rather than 12mm on the T55X. I made a new attachment on my lathe to enable fitment and was well worth the effort.
