Care Instructions:
- Sowing Position: For a consistent, year-round kitchen supply, seeds can be started indoors on a warm windowsill at any time, or sown directly outdoors into fertile, well-drained soil from March to June.
- Sowing Method: Sow seeds thinly directly into damp compost or finely raked soil 0.5cm deep, in rows spaced 30cm apart, keeping the seedbed consistently moist until germination is complete.
- Thinning and Maintenance: Thin out young outdoor seedlings gradually to leave the strongest plants spaced 15cm apart, using the aromatic trimmings fresh in the kitchen. Keep the growing area well-weeded to reduce competition for nutrients.
- Harvesting Protocol: Pick the outer leaves regularly a few at a time once the plants reach maturity, leaving the central growing point intact to encourage continuous, multi-season leaf production.
