Electrify your summer salad bowl with a spectacular, multi-coloured carnival of crisp radishes.
A brilliant and highly rewarding novelty mixture belonging to the fast-growing Raphanus sativus family. Perfectly named, Bright Lights delivers a striking visual medley of spherical, crunch-loaded radishes that stray far beyond standard red, producing a kaleidoscope of jewel-toned roots that are as fun to grow as they are delicious to eat.
Details:
- Botanical Name: Raphanus sativus, a lightning-fast, ultra-reliable mixed globe radish variety.
- A Kaleidoscope of Colour: Brings an instant "wow factor" to the kitchen garden, producing perfectly round roots in a vibrant mix of traditional red, ice-white, deep purple, and sunny yellow.
- Crisp Texture & Peppery Bite: Features tight, firm, and juicy flesh that packs a wonderfully refreshing, clean crunch with just the right amount of zesty, peppery heat.
- The Ultimate Space-Saving Catch Crop: Because they mature in just a matter of weeks, these seeds are perfect for sowing in the empty gaps between slow-growing vegetables like brassicas, sweetcorn, or parsnips.
- Perfect for Pots & Balconies: Its shallow root system and compact leafy tops make it an absolute must-have for quick-turnaround container gardening, window boxes, or patio planters.
- Healthy & Fast-Maturing: A highly rewarding vegetable for children and beginners to grow, providing a rapid, fun harvest that acts as an excellent source of health-boosting vitamin C.
Care Instructions:
- Sow seeds directly outdoors every two weeks from early spring to early autumn for an unbroken, non-stop summer supply. Sow in finely raked soil in drills 1.5cm deep, keeping rows 15cm apart.
- Thin the young seedlings out early to roughly 3–5cm apart to give the spherical roots plenty of space to swell uniformly without crowding each other.
- Water the rows lightly but regularly; keeping the soil consistently moist ensures the radishes grow rapidly, preventing them from becoming unpleasantly woody, hollow, or overly spicy.
