Enjoy a non-stop summer harvest of exceptionally sweet peas from a legendary, fast-maturing dwarf variety.
One of the most popular and reliable early-crop peas belonging to the high-yielding Pisum family. Reaching a compact height of just 45cm, this highly versatile and prolific cropper is perfect for successional sowings, yielding masses of tightly packed, dark green pods filled with tender, sweet peas.
Details:
- Botanical Name: Pisum sativum, a classic, wrinkled-seeded early dwarf pea variety.
- Prolific Heavy Cropper: Remarkably productive for its size, continuously pumping out masses of small, narrow, but exceptionally well-filled dark green pods.
- Superb Successional Sowing: An ideal variety for staggered planting throughout the spring and summer, ensuring a steady, fresh supply of sweet peas over an extended harvesting window.
- Ultra-Compact 45cm Profile: Grows to a neat, manageable height of just 45cm (18in), making it an excellent, low-maintenance option for small garden plots, raised beds, or patio planters.
- Sweet & Tender Peas: Produces smaller, traditional garden peas that are incredibly sweet, juicy, and tender, making them a delicious addition to salads, risottos, or eaten raw straight from the pod.
- Excellent Disease Tolerance: Highly resilient, featuring fantastic natural resistance to pea wilt and downy mildew, which ensures healthy, clean foliage all season long.
Care Instructions:
- Sow seeds directly outdoors from early spring to mid-summer in flat-bottomed drills 5cm deep, spacing the seeds roughly 5cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil.
- Sow a fresh row every two to three weeks for a continuous, unbroken supply of delicious garden-fresh peas throughout the summer months.
- While the compact 45cm dwarf vines are sturdy, pushing a few short twigs or pea sticks into the soil along the row will help support the heavy weight of the crop and keep pods off the ground.
