An exceptional, fast-maturing hybrid upgrade to the classic 'Telegraph' type, delivering extra-long, premium fruits.

Bring advanced modern genetics to a traditional garden favorite with this outstanding F1 hybrid. Specially bred as an improved, high-performance 'Telegraph' type, Telepathy F1 establishes with immense vigor to crop significantly earlier in the season, rewarding you with an abundance of longer, straighter, and exceptionally crisp cucumbers.

Details:

  • Botanical Name: Cucumis sativus 'Telepathy F1', an elite, highly refined modern hybrid selection within the Cucumber genus.
  • Plant Class: Half Hardy Annual, establishing with superior speed and stamina to deliver an extra-early and prolonged high-volume summer harvest.
  • The Ultimate Telegraph Upgrade: Combines the highly prized, authentic flavor profile of traditional heritage frame cucumbers with the rapid maturity, uniform growth, and heavy cropping power of a modern hybrid.
  • Extra-Long Premium Fruits: Produces beautifully uniform, long, and slender dark green cucumbers that grow significantly larger and straighter than old-fashioned varieties. The skin is smooth and thin, surrounding an incredibly juicy, crisp, and seedless white flesh.
  • Guaranteed Bitter-Free Flavour: Bred to ensure a consistently mild, sweet, and refreshing taste with absolutely no bitter aftertaste, making it incredibly clean on the palate and easy on the digestion.
  • Excellent Growing Flexibility: Highly adaptable variety that performs spectacularly across a wide range of setups; it crops reliably in both heated or unheated cool greenhouses, large polytunnels, or under the protection of a garden cold frame.
  • Vigorous Vertical Growth: Naturally develops a robust, athletic vining framework that loves to scale supports. Training it vertically up strings, a trellis, or wire netting keeps the hanging cucumbers perfectly straight, clean, and effortless to harvest.

Care Instructions:

  • Sowing Position: Start seeds early indoors from March to May by sowing individual seeds on their edges 1.5cm deep in small pots of moist compost to protect tender roots. Maintain a warm, consistent temperature during germination. Position in full sun.
  • Training & Support: Plant out into greenhouse borders, large patio tubs, or growing bags once late spring conditions have fully warmed. Provide a strong vertical support frame and loosely secure the main stem. Pinch out the growing tip of the main stem once it reaches the top of its support to encourage productive side branches.
  • Moisture & Nutrition: Cucumbers are exceptionally thirsty and hungry plants. Water deeply and regularly around the base, keeping the soil or compost consistently moist but never waterlogged. Feed with a high-potash liquid tomato fertilizer every two weeks once the first fruits begin to develop.
  • Harvesting Tip: Use a sharp knife or garden snips to harvest the cucumbers cleanly when they are firm, heavy, and have reached their full, impressive length. Frequent, consistent picking stimulates the plant to continuously push out a non-stop supply of new fruits until autumn.
