A spectacular breakthrough variety featuring large, fully ruffled double and semi-double blooms.

Introduce unparalleled texture and sophisticated volume to your summer borders with this highly acclaimed cosmos mix. Flaunting magnificent, multi-layered crinkled blossoms that closely resemble paper pom-poms, these tall, elegant plants contrast beautifully with fine, feathery foliage to create a dramatic, long-season display.

Details:

  • Botanical Name: Cosmos bipinnatus 'Double Click Mixed', a premier, heavily petalled selection within the Cosmos genus.
  • Plant Class: Half Hardy Annual, establishing with incredible speed from a spring sowing to produce an abundance of complex blooms in its very first year.
  • Ruffled Double Blooms: Breaks away from traditional single daisy-like shapes, bearing large, striking double and semi-double flowers with intensely crinkled, carnation-like petals.
  • Rich Multi-Colour Mix: Showcases a gorgeous, beautifully coordinated spectrum of classic summer tones, including deep carmine-cherry, soft rose-pink, and crisp, pure white.
  • Stately Tall Framework: Displays a tall, upright, and robustly branched growth habit, reaching a mature back-of-border height of 120cm (48in).
  • The Florist's Favourite: An absolute masterpiece for home styling; the extra-long, straight, wiry stems and dense, volumetric flower heads hold their form exceptionally well in water for premium summer bouquets.
  • Pollinator Friendly: Despite the heavily layered petals, bees and butterflies easily navigate the blooms to access the hidden, nectar-rich golden cores, keeping your garden humming with beneficial life.
  • Optimal Position: Thrives beautifully when positioned in a bright, open spot in full sun, showing excellent natural resilience in poorer, well-drained soils.

Care Instructions:

  • Sowing Position: Start seeds early indoors from March to April in cellular trays of moist, free-draining compost, or sow directly outdoors in May where they are to flower once the risk of spring frost has safely passed. Position in full sun.
  • Planting Out & Spacing: For indoor-started seedlings, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before transplanting. Space the young plants approximately 30–45cm apart to give their heavily branched framework ample room to mature smoothly.
  • Support & Maintenance: Due to their impressive 120cm height and heavy double flower heads, plants grown in open or windy gardens will benefit from subtle staking or link supports. Deadhead faded blooms regularly to relentlessly trigger a continuous succession of fresh double buds.
