Deeply coloured, sweet roots for a professional-quality harvest.
Experience the reliability of this premium F1 monogerm hybrid, specifically bred for uniform growth and exceptional flavour from early summer through to autumn.
Details:
- Botanical Name: Beta vulgaris, a high-performing F1 hybrid that offers superior vigour and consistency.
- Monogerm Variety: Unlike traditional beetroot seeds, this "monogerm" variety produces only one seedling per seed, significantly reducing the need for tedious thinning.
- Exceptional Flavour: Renowned for its top-quality, sweet taste and smooth texture, making it a favourite for both roasting and pickling.
- Deep Colouration: Produces roots with a vibrant, intense red internal colour that looks stunning when sliced into fresh salads.
- Versatile Harvesting: Highly flexible for the grower; lift the roots young as tender "baby beets" or leave them to reach full maturity.
- Nutritional Powerhouse: An excellent homegrown source of folate and a good source of potassium, contributing to a healthy and balanced diet.
- Reliable Performance: A hardy and easy-to-grow variety that provides a dependable crop even for those new to vegetable gardening.
Care Instructions:
- Sowing: Sow seeds thinly outdoors from March to July in well-prepared, stone-free soil. Sow at a depth of 1cm in drills spaced 30cm apart.
- Spacing: Because this is a monogerm variety, you can sow more precisely to your desired spacing (approx. 10cm apart) to minimise thinning later.
- Watering: Maintain consistent moisture levels, especially during dry spells, to ensure the roots remain tender and do not become woody or bolt.
- Soil Preference: Thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid freshly manured ground to prevent the roots from forking.
- Harvesting: Pull individual roots as required from June to October. For the most delicate flavour, harvest baby beets when they reach the size of a golf ball.
