A high-quality hybrid for uniform, professional results.
Enjoy a reliable harvest of perfectly round, deep red roots known for their smooth skin and exceptional sweetness.
Details:
- Botanical Name: Beta vulgaris, a premium F1 hybrid bred for consistency and vigour.
- Superior Uniformity: Produces roots that are exceptionally uniform in shape and size, ensuring even cooking and a professional appearance.
- Deep Red Colour: Features an intense, dark red interior with virtually no white ringing, perfect for slicing and pickling.
- Nutritional Value: A fantastic homegrown source of folate and potassium, making it a healthy and rewarding staple for the kitchen garden.
- Excellent Flavour: Renowned for its sweet, earthy taste and smooth texture, whether eaten as a baby beet or at full maturity.
- Multigerm Variety: Each seed cluster produces several seedlings, offering a productive crop that is easy to establish.
Care Instructions:
- Sowing: Sow seeds thinly outdoors from March to July in well-prepared, stone-free soil. Sow 1cm deep in drills spaced 30cm apart.
- Thinning: Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 10cm apart to allow the globe roots sufficient room to expand.
- Watering: Maintain consistent moisture throughout the growing season to ensure the roots remain tender and do not become woody.
- Soil Preference: Thrives in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid freshly manured ground to prevent the roots from forking.
- Harvesting: Pull individual roots as required from June to October. Harvest as baby beets at the size of a golf ball for the most delicate flavour.
